Throughout my animation, I show cryptic snapshots of iconic scenes from the movie, Friday the 13th without revealing any key details. This creates moments of foreshadowing that don’t make sense to the viewer until the end of the movie. As a thriller, Friday the 13th is full of suspense, and I wanted to reflect that in my title sequence.
Each scene in the title sequence reveals another clue as to what will happen in the movie. The scene becomes increasingly menacing, putting the viewer on the edge of his seat. The color palette reflects the mood of the movie, dark and eerie. Coupled with the suspenseful music, the visual effects of the sequence create an immersive experience for the viewer, enticing them to stay for more.
To bring this concept to life, I used a combination of original illustrations and vector graphics from Adobe Stock (customized and composed to suit the project).
